Description

This object is a rarely imaged, obscure barred spiral galaxy located 100 million light years away in the constellation of Cygnus at a declination of +51 degrees. This galaxy spans 2.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 70,000 light years.

I was happy with the clarity of the resulting image. Using the full resolution view, the galaxy details include a stellar-like core, a dust band on the left side, numerous star clusters, and extended star streams. My favorite part is the well defined S-shape of the arms. As FranckIM06 has pointed out below, the structure is very similar (but reversed) to that of NGC 7479.

For those of you who enjoy such things, the background sky contains many interesting tiny galaxies of different structures and shapes.
